OK-VISE® Fixturing Concept

While in the most economical fixtures sourcing a single bolt is sufficient, the modular and versatile workholding systems deploy more diverse range of accessories to increase the variability of the system.

Most commonly used accessories are fixed stoppers, side stoppers, side guides and parallels. Accessories optimized for OK-VISE clamps are available along with other OK-VISE products through our global distribution network.

Please note that most accessories are optimized for a specific platform type.

This addtional piece is fastened with two M5 screws (included) to the threads in OK-VISE additional piece models.
These additional pieces are available for B-, D- and F-series clamps.

Normally, additional pieces can be machined into different shapes.

In addition to JDA-15 model, the larger addtional piece models are available speficically for D-size clamps. D-size interface (2 x M5 bolts) is used also in RMS-Tx stoppers.

JDA-2 and JDA-3 are made of aluminium, JDS-2 and JDS-3 are steel.

Special sizes are also available.

Single-wedge clamps can be transformed into pull-down clamps by using pull-down sets.

When the set is installed, the clamp is simply turned upside down and a plate and bushing are attached. Normally serrated single-wedge clamps are recommended for use with the pull-down sets.

Pull-down sets are available for B, D and F-series clamps.

  • PD-SET B
  • PD-SET D
  • PD-SET F

Although purchasing a pull-down set is more practical and cost-effective, the following individual bushings and plates are available upon request:

  • BB1  PULL-DOWN BUSHING
  • BP    PULL-DOWN PLATE
  • DB1  PULL-DOWN BUSHING
  • DP    PULL-DOWN PLATE
  • FB1  PULL-DOWN BUSHING
  • FP    PULL-DOWN PLATE

In some cases, the clamp tends to rotate around the bolt. This is typical, for example, for the clamps with self-adjusting balls in both jaws (-E).

To prevent rotation a rotation stopper plate can be used. Grooves to be made in the base platform where clamp is bolted to ensure that the plate sits firmly in the groove.

Normally, the hex bolts are used for installation of the OK-VISE low-profile clamps.

However, in some cases using a stud bolt for fastening proves to be more practical. For example, when the clamp has to be fastened to a plate with a relatively short thread, the thread may easily get damaged by a standard bolt.

When a stud bolt with a special OK-VISE bushing and a hex nut are used, only the stud bolt is exposed to being stripped out.

Another reason to use this type of fastening can be to minimize the sortiment of power tools that is used in fastening various clamps in the factory.

Bushings have been designed for B-, D- and F-series clamps.
